This is a piece by Ryo Matsuzawa, a woodworker I personally like who works under the brand name tabine.

The soft curves are carved and polished by hand, giving it an incredibly smooth feel that makes you want to keep stroking it. The back is finished just as carefully, so it can be turned over and used on either side.

Thanks to its beautiful shape, it also works as an objet d’art even without any accessories placed on it. We have two of them in the hallway by our entrance.

It resembles an oversized mitten or a handprint left in the snow. It has been gently carved toward the center.

Its pleasant texture is so inviting that you will find yourself wanting to slip your hand into it. Use it as a tray for your favorite accessories, as a place to put your keys by the entrance, or for holding dried flowers or potpourri on a bedside table or shelf. The back is flat, so it can also be turned over and used as a display stand.

Like hand games or hand signs, we also recommend combining a left and right pair in various arrangements.

In an interior filled with straight lines, the presence of soothing curves can create a sense of calm and bring the room together. This is a tray that suits any interior style and anyone who uses it.

This piece is finished with oil made from natural materials.
