This is a piece by Ryo Matsuzawa, a woodworker I personally admire who works under the brand name tabine.

The soft curves are carved and polished by hand, giving the piece an exceptionally smooth feel that makes you want to keep running your fingers over it. The back is finished with the same care, so it can be used upside down as well.

Its beautiful shape also allows it to stand on its own as an objet d’art even without any accessories on it. We have two placed in the hallway by our entrance.

It looks like an oversized mitten or a handprint left in the snow. It has been gently carved toward the center.

Its pleasantly smooth texture somehow makes you want to slip your hand into it. Use it as a tray for your favorite accessories, to keep your keys by the entrance, or to hold dried flowers or potpourri on a bedside table or shelf. The back is flat, so you can turn it over and use it as a display stand.

Like hand games or hand signs, we also recommend combining a left and right piece in various arrangements as a set.

Adding pleasant curves to an interior with many straight lines somehow creates a sense of calm and makes the room feel more cohesive. This is a tray that suits any interior style and anyone who uses it.

This piece is finished with an oil made from natural materials.
